About Laci
Hi! I am Laci Minton but you can call me RaceyLaci! I was born and raised in a small town of 3000 people, Beaver Dam KY. I started my racing dream at the age of 3 on a dirt oval go-cart. I quickly excelled racing in higher classes with kids 7 to 8 years old, getting my first win at the age of 5. Ever since then I have worked hard at chasing my dreams, which is being a NASCAR Cup driver. My last year in go-carts, as an 8 year old, we won 10 out of 12 races. I really had been growing interest in Legend cars. When I was 10 years old I got a Legend car and began practicing to drive a manual transmission. This was a huge step to me. I quickly learned with the help of my dad Lee Minton. At 12 and 13 I began the first female and youngest to ever win a track championship at Kentucky Motor Speedway. At the age of 15 I moved up to a Pro Late Model. I raced my first race at 15 years old driving for Dan Sturgill. Covid hit so I only got to race 1 time while I was 15. When I turned 16 I raced my own Pro Late Model at Highland Rim Speedway. My first season I was most improved driver and got 3rd in points. The next year 2022, I was 17. We had a very tough year with clutch issues we only were able to finish about 6 races, but we were very fast and improved so much! 2023 is goi8ng to be a year to remember!
